A sculptural floor lamp that directs integrated, indirect light onto a wall — ideal for ambient mood and narrow spaces.
Create ambient wall-wash lighting
Place close to a wall for best effect
Use in narrow spaces or corners
Combine warm wood and metal finishes
Stable thin black metal base
The Marset High Line Floor Lamp, designed by Josep Lluís Xuclà, is a sculptural floor lamp that reads as a slim architectural object. The piece combines warm timber and metal to produce an indirect wall-wash rather than a direct beam, so it performs as ambient lighting intended to shape atmosphere rather than task illumination.
Formally the High Line is a composition of three rectangular volumes: a vertical light-carrying timber beam in oak or wenge, a shorter lacquered wood support and a thin black metal base plate. The arrangement is intentionally offset and asymmetrical; the black base also establishes the optimal distance to the wall for the intended light effect.
Construction pairs a natural wood vertical element with metal and lacquered wood details. The slim timber beam has a rectangular section and the structure sits on a flat rectangular black metal base, providing stability for the tall profile. A discreet black power cord emerges from the base of the timber element.
Light is delivered from an integrated source mounted into the rear face of the wooden beam, creating a soft wash that returns from the wall. This orientation creates balanced ambient illumination and subtle shadow without revealing the lamp's source, making the High Line suitable for corridors, living rooms or any scheme that benefits from mood-focused wall lighting.
Lighting Design Online treats the High Line as a considered choice for design-led interiors: we can advise on exact siting and specification to achieve the intended wall-wash and ambience. Our guidance emphasises clarity and professional assurance, and we can support project-friendly details such as placement, mounting constraints and matching control options for a confident outcome.
