Foscarini Chouchin Pendant by Ionna Vautrin is a compact suspension lamp from the Chouchin range that reinterprets the traditional Japanese lantern in hand-blown glass. The piece is intended for indoor ceiling installation and combines diffused ambient illumination with a controlled, direct downward light.

The pendant’s elongated, pill-like diffuser is crafted in glossy white blown glass and is finished with a contrasting coloured ring at the lower edge that provides a clear visual anchor. The Chouchin Reverse 2 is offered in White/Green and White/Black, allowing a subtle graphic detail to suit the scheme.

Construction is straightforward and honest: a cased, liquid-coated white glass diffuser sits below a stainless steel suspension cable, while a transparent electrical cable follows a gentle, wavy route alongside the support. The ceiling canopy includes a galvanised metal bracket and a glossy white, batch-dyed ABS cover; a canopy decentralisation kit is available for flexible layout options.

Light is delivered as a warm, evenly diffused ambient glow with additional downward illumination from the open lower ring. The fixture ships with an E27 LED retrofit bulb (21W, 2700K, 2581 lm, CRI >80) that is dimmable. Please note the fitting is rated IP20 and intended for dry, indoor spaces.

Installation is by ceiling suspension; the product requires a standard mains supply and the included E27 lamp removes the need for an external driver. A one-year manufacturer’s warranty applies. For dimming performance use a compatible mains dimmer and confirm installer settings during commissioning.
