The Flos String Light Pendant is a sphere‑headed suspension pendant from Flos, part of the String Light family. The design pairs a die‑cast aluminium upper hemisphere with an opal polycarbonate lower hemisphere to deliver calm, diffused ambient illumination for interior spaces.

Formally the luminaire is a perfect sphere, horizontally divided into an opaque body and a translucent diffuser. The sharp contrast between the matt‑finished body and the opal diffuser, together with a very thin suspension cable, gives a minimalist, lightweight presence whether used singly or in runs.

Construction combines a matt‑varnished die‑cast aluminium upper shell with an optical opal PC diffuser and a Kevlar‑reinforced coaxial suspension cable. The pendant is offered in Black, Blue and White finishes and can be specified with either a wall/ceiling connection or a floor switch in matching finishes.

The opal diffuser distributes light evenly downward and outward to reduce glare, making the pendant suitable for general ambient lighting in living rooms, dining areas and circulation spaces. The product is rated IP20 and intended for interior use.

Control options vary by configuration: the standard on/off control is an electronic switch with an optical mechanism.
