Flos String Light Pendant

The Flos String Light Pendant is a suspension lamp from Michael Anastassiades' String Light range for Flos, conceived as a sharply minimal cone that provides considered, diffused illumination. The design reads architectural and precise, intended for vertical runs or carefully placed single pendants where a calm, focussed light is required.

The cone head has a stark geometric silhouette and appears to float on an exceptionally slender coaxial cable. It is available in Black, Blue and White finishes, letting you choose a tone that suits contemporary or pared-back interiors.

The body is constructed from die-cast aluminium with a clear soft-touch varnish and uses an opal polycarbonate optical diffuser to soften the light. The suspension system extends to 22 metres and is Kevlar reinforced for long-span installations; wall and ceiling connection components are supplied in black polycarbonate and a matt-black floor power supply with switch is available.

Light is delivered downward through the integrated opal diffuser to reduce glare and create a soft, even pool of light beneath the cone. The internal light source is LED-based and designed to give diffused ambient or localized task illumination depending on placement.

Control variants include an electronic on/off switch with optical mechanism, touch-dim versions and Casambi-ready wireless control; certain versions include a dimmer. It is compulsory to add either the floor switch or the ceiling/wall rose for final installation. The fitting carries an IP20 rating and contains a replaceable LED light source that should be serviced by a professional.
