The Flos Smithfield Pendant, designed by Jasper Morrison, is a ceiling-mounted pendant from the Smithfield range that delivers direct downward illumination. Its shallow, domed form and pared-back silhouette suit dining areas or task-focused zones where clear, focused light is required.

The shade is a large, low-profile dome with a seamless exterior and a flat, circular diffuser at the base. The Smithfield is offered in a range of finishes and control options, allowing you to select a surface and dimming system that fits your scheme.

Construction combines an aluminium body with an injection-moulded opalescent methacrylate (PMMA) diffuser and a steel ceiling attachment. The pendant is suspended from a steel suspension cable alongside a multi‑pole PTFE-insulated power cable; the factory working length is 2700 mm.

Light is directed downwards while the opalescent methacrylate diffuser evens the output and reduces glare, creating a balanced pool of light beneath the shade. Variants are offered with DALI or push-dim control, making the fitting suitable for both simple and more integrated control schemes. The product is rated IP20 for interior use.

Installation requires a safe ceiling fixing to the steel canopy; control gear and lamp replacement should be carried out by a qualified professional. The Smithfield range includes versions with professional-grade control options and replaceable control gear where specified. A two-year manufacturer warranty applies.
