Flos 265 Cantilever Wall Light

The Flos 265 Cantilever Wall Light, designed by Paolo Rizzatto for Flos, is a decorative cantilevered swing-arm wall light that pairs a minimalist silhouette with industrial-modern detailing. Constructed in metal, the fitting is conceived as an adjustable task and reading light that projects directional illumination across a wide radius from its mounting point.

The design is defined by a long, slender tubular arm fixed to a vertical rectangular wall-mount bracket and balanced by a solid, tapered conical counterweight at the opposite end of the dome-shaped shade. A thin tension wire runs from the bracket to the arm’s midpoint and exposed cable loops and silver-tone pivot fasteners remain integral to the aesthetic. The 265 is offered in Chromatica, Black and White finishes.

Build quality is straightforward and honest: the fixture is metal throughout with visible mechanical joints and a manufacturers’ identification plate on the side of the vertical bracket. The exposed hardware and tension cable are intentional design cues that communicate the lamp’s engineered balancing mechanism.

Light is delivered directionally from the hemispherical dome-shaped shade, making the fitting suitable for task, reading or accent illumination. The shade features a small set of circular perforations near its top which provide heat ventilation while keeping the light focused.
