The CTO Lighting Carapace Pendant is a ceiling-mounted pendant from the Carapace range. This modern reinterpretation of a 1920s form pairs hand-spun metal shadework with an opal glass diffuser for considered overhead interior illumination.

The design uses nested, tiered shades to create a low-profile, symmetrical silhouette. The outer shade shows a dark, matte appearance while the inner, lower shade is finished in a warm brass tone; this layered contrast gives the fixture visual depth and a restrained, mid-century inspired character.

Construction includes a circular ceiling canopy and a rigid downrod that supports the shade assembly. A translucent frosted glass globe sits at the base to diffuse light evenly and reduce glare, while the metallic inner surface reflects and warms the downward illumination.
