The Astro Trimless Recessed Downlight is a trimless ceiling downlight from Astro's Trimless range, designed for a seamless plaster-in finish. It is fire-rated and IP65, making it suitable for architectural ceilings and wet zones where a flush, discreet look is required.

Formally the fitting uses a square mounting plate that is plastered into the ceiling to create a trimless result, while a circular aperture and deep conical baffle house the light source. The slimline profile and matte textured white finish are intended to blend with standard plaster ceilings and maintain a calm ceiling plane. This product must be installed prior to final plastering to achieve the flush effect.

The internal housing is built to accept a single GU10 LED lamp or a compatible LED module and is fixed in orientation to provide non-adjustable, downward light. The deep recessed lamp position reduces glare and shields the lamp from direct horizontal view, while the square-to-round geometry gives a restrained contemporary expression.

Light is supplied by 1 x GU10 LED (maximum 6W) or specified LED modules. Example module and lamp options include GU10 LED 4.1W 2700K dimmable and LED module options with 90CRI at 24° or 40° beam angles (2700K–3000K). Lamps are not included; dimming requires a compatible dimmable GU10 lamp and appropriate dimmer. Refer to product documentation for module compatibility.

For installation: this is a plaster-in, trimless unit and must be fixed before the final skim coat is applied. Consult the installation guide for cut-out and mounting details. The fitting carries a three-year manufacturer’s warranty and should be specified with the IP65 and fire-rating requirements in mind for compliant installations.
