STORY

Visual Comfort Utopia Large Linear Pendant, designed by Kelly Wearstler, is a large ceiling-mounted pendant that references Californian topography. The range translates carved, striated metal textures into a long, low-profile form intended for kitchen islands and dining tables.

The pendant reads as a slim, surfboard-like bar with a convex upper surface and a flat base; it is offered in two appearance options — Aged Iron and Gild — and is optimised for mounting above elongated furniture or architectural runs.

Constructed principally from metal, the shade features a fine, vertical striated texture and is suspended by two slender rigid downrods from a matching rectangular canopy. A white translucent diffuser sits on the underside to conceal the lamp holders and soften the light output. Technical dimensions: overall height 80.1cm, fixture height 19cm (minimum custom height 33.7cm), width 15.88cm x 151.8cm, canopy 10.2cm x 91.4cm. Weight: 15.4kg.

Light is delivered downward through the broad, flat diffuser to create a generous, focused illumination band ideal for task and dining surfaces. The long linear aperture helps provide balanced, direct light along the length of a table or island while the diffuser reduces glare and softens shadows.

The pendant is fitted with six keyless E27 lamp holders. It is rated IP20 and Class I electrical, so it is intended for indoor use and requires earthing. Select lamps and dimming controls to suit your preferred light output and check compatibility with E27 LED lamps and dimmers.
