STORY

The Visual Comfort Utopia Wall Sconce, designed by Kelly Wearstler, is a decorative indoor wall light that translates coastal topography into a sculptural, waisted metal body paired with tapered glass cones. The Utopia range channels organic, topographic influences into tactile, carved surfaces for considered interiors.

The design presents a symmetrical vertical composition: a cinched central metal housing anchors two tapered conical glass shades that flare at their outer ends. The sconce is offered in Gild, Polished Nickel, Aged Iron and Plaster White finishes and comes in Large, Small and Extra‑Large sizes to suit different elevations and scales.

Construction combines textured metal and frosted glass. The metal body features dense horizontal striations and a carved, oval backplate with a radiating topographic texture. The shades are white, frosted glass with a smooth, matte surface that contrasts with the darker metal finishes.

Light is delivered bidirectionally: internal sources sit within the cinched central housing to illuminate the two cones from their narrow points. The open ends provide both ambient, diffused light through the glass and accent illumination from the top and bottom openings, making the sconce suitable as a decorative wall light for circulation spaces and layered lighting schemes.

Mounting is flush to the wall via the integrated oval backplate. The fitting is rated IP20 for indoor use. A manufacturer warranty of one year applies. Specific lamp, driver or dimming information should be confirmed on the product page or with our project team.
