STORY

The Visual Comfort Turlington Large Wall Sconce by Thomas O'Brien is a decorative wall-mounted light designed for interior spaces such as hallways, entryways and living rooms. Its refined silhouette and two-tone finish give it a sculptural presence while remaining functionally focused.

Design intent centres on a vertical, diamond-shaped backplate and a slender, curved arm that supports a tapered, conical metal shade. Brass cuffs and a small brass sphere on the stem, together with visible brass fastener heads, create a considered contrast. The Turlington is offered in Polished Nickel, Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass and Bronze & Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass finishes.

Constructed entirely from metal, the sconce uses brass-coloured detailing and three thin angled support wires to position the shade around the central socket. These visible details are both structural and decorative, emphasising a linear, architectural aesthetic.

The opaque metal shade directs light downward into a controlled pool, making the fitting suited to accent and ambient lighting rather than general room illumination. The Turlington is a single-lamp sconce and is typically used alone or in multiples; when specifying runs of sconces consider a spacing of 8–10 feet between fittings for a balanced spread of light.

Installation hides wiring behind the diamond backplate. The fixture is rated IP20 for indoor use only; check lamp choice and wall controls for dimming compatibility. A 1 year manufacturer warranty is provided.
