STORY

Visual Comfort Rui Sconce is a decorative wall light from the Rui range, designed by Amber Lewis for Visual Comfort. The design pairs a long, slender metal backplate with a tapered drum shade to deliver considered ambient or accent lighting for indoor spaces.

The sconce balances a minimalist rectangular backplate and a curved U-shaped arm that supports a tapered shade. It is offered in Aged Iron, Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass and Polished Nickel, and with Linen or Natural Abaca shade options to suit different schemes.

Constructed primarily from metal, the backplate features a slightly recessed central panel and defined borders. Finishes include a textured, hand-applied living appearance that gives each fitting subtle surface variation; the shade is a finely textured white fabric that sits slightly away from the wall.

The translucent fabric shade diffuses the internal light source to create a soft glow and reduce glare, while the U-shaped arm projects the shade away from the wall so light can be cast more broadly.
