STORY

The Visual Comfort Presidio Large Linear Lantern pendant, designed by Ian K. Fowler, is a linear lantern from Visual Comfort's Presidio range. Constructed in metal with clear cylindrical glass shades, it is intended for ceiling-mounted interior lighting and is especially suited to long surfaces such as dining tables and kitchen islands.

The design balances an angular open-frame lantern with soft, rounded glass cylinders to create a modern transitional aesthetic. The large linear scale is visually light and airy, with distinctive trapezoidal side panels adding architectural interest. It is offered in Polished Nickel and Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass finishes.

Build quality is evident in the metal frame and clear glass cylinders. A long rectangular ceiling canopy and two dual-rod suspension systems with chain links provide secure support and allow height adjustment. A central horizontal bar runs through the shades to support the sockets.

The pendant houses five tubular, Edison-style filament bulbs that give visible, warm-toned light sources; the open-frame design allows unobstructed light distribution and straightforward bulb replacement. Its form is suited to ambient and task lighting over tables and islands where clear, balanced illumination is required.
