STORY

The Visual Comfort Precision Cylinder Sconce, designed by Kelly Wearstler for the Precision series, is a decorative wall-mounted sconce that pairs a vertical frosted glass cylinder with a signature perforated metal guard. Its architectural silhouette is intended for interior ambient or task lighting where considered form and subtle texture are required.

Design-wise the sconce contrasts a smooth, opal or frosted glass shade with an industrial perforated metal sleeve that wraps one side of the cylinder. The Precision aesthetic is expressed through bold lines and a restrained profile; it is offered in Polished Nickel, Antique-Burnished Brass and Bronze.

The fitting combines a glass cylinder, a metal shield with a pattern of small circular perforations, and a clean-edged rectangular backplate. A visible set screw on the backplate secures the assembly and reinforces the product’s architectural, detail-led construction.

The perforated metal guard diffuses light and produces subtle textured reflections on nearby surfaces, making the sconce well suited to flanking mirrors, narrow walls or circulation spaces. For mirror siting we recommend mounting just above eye level — around 60"-65" from the floor to the centre of the sconce backplate — and choosing a linear fitting at least three‑quarters the width of the mirror; for larger mirrors consider a pair of evenly spaced sconces.

This product carries an IP20 rating as standard and can be upgraded to IP44 upon request for an additional charge.
