STORY

The Visual Comfort Otto Flush Mount Ceiling Light by Kelly Wearstler from the Otto range pairs a low‑profile surface mount with a hand‑worked alabaster shade and a slim metal trim. The compact, cylindrical form reads contemporary but is anchored by organic stone, making it suitable for bedrooms, living rooms and hallways.

Design intent is simple and sculptural: a rounded alabaster drum with concentric internal carving that becomes textured and tactile when lit. The fitting is offered in Polished Nickel, Bronze and Antique‑Burnished Brass to suit a range of schemes.

The shade is carved from natural alabaster with a translucent finish that softly diffuses the internal light source. A thin metal band caps the top of the fixture, providing a clean junction between stone and ceiling while keeping the overall silhouette restrained.

Light is delivered by a dedicated 12W LED (1,100 lm) integrated into the fitting, producing even, ambient illumination through the stone. The flush mount sits close to the ceiling, making the piece appropriate for lower clearances and for use individually or in groups to light circulation spaces.

Technical notes: Height 7cm, Width 12.7cm with an 11.4cm round canopy; weight 1.4 kg. The product is IP20 and Class I. Alabaster is a natural stone — variations in colour and texture are expected and part of the product’s character.
