STORY

The Visual Comfort Ophelion Pendant, designed by Kelly Wearstler for the Ophelion range, is a decorative ceiling pendant that pairs faceted alabaster panels with a precise metal frame. Its shard-like silhouette and refined geometry make it as much a three-dimensional artwork as a light source.

The pendant’s form is built around three overlapping, faceted alabaster panels arranged in an angular, tapering composition. The fitting is offered in Polished Nickel, Bronze and Antique‑Burnished Brass, allowing discreet or warm metallic accents within a scheme.

Panels are carved from natural alabaster, a translucent stone with inherent variations in grain and colour; these variations are part of the material’s character. The structural elements are metal, with visible screw fasteners and a slender downrod that connects to a flat, square ceiling canopy.

Light is emitted and softened through the translucent alabaster to provide ambient illumination and a gentle warmth. The multi‑faceted arrangement presents the pendant as a sculptural object from varying viewpoints, ideal for living areas, dining spaces or entrance halls where an ambient focal point is required.

The square canopy provides a clean ceiling interface for standard electrical boxes and the visible joint in the downrod indicates a multi‑part stem for height adjustment at install. This interior fixture carries an IP20 rating and is supplied with a 1 year manufacturer’s warranty.
