STORY

The Visual Comfort Norman Wall Sconce, designed by Sean Lavin for the Norman range, is a decorative wall and bathroom sconce that blends pendant-style detail with a fixed wall arm. Its sculptural form is intended to provide focused, downward-directed illumination suitable for task or accent applications.

The design pairs a circular wall plate and a projecting rectangular arm in a reflective finish with a bell-shaped metal shade in matte black. A fabric-wrapped cord suspends the shade from the arm while three slender chrome rods cradle the shade, creating a mid-century modern silhouette. Available finishes: Satin Brass and Chrome.

Constructed principally from metal, the fitting combines polished hardware with a non-reflective matte shade for high contrast. The visible fabric-wrapped cord is used deliberately as a design element, and the three-pronged chrome frame provides a considered, structural detail rather than being purely decorative.

The parabolic, downward-facing shade directs light onto surfaces below to reduce glare and improve task clarity. The combination of focused output and sculptural form makes the sconce appropriate for vanity surrounds, hallways and beside beds where directional light and atmosphere are required.

Wall mounting is designed for a concealed electrical connection behind the backplate for a neat finish. The product carries an IP20 rating and is therefore intended for internal, dry zones only.
