STORY

The Visual Comfort Melange Wall Sconce, designed by Kelly Wearstler, is a decorative wall light from the Melange range that combines a carved stone disc with a rectilinear metal backplate for considered interiors. Its form reads as a sculptural element while providing soft, diffused illumination for living rooms, hallways and bathroom spaces.

The design uses a cantilevered, horizontal alabaster disc held above a vertical post to create a refined balance of circular and rectilinear geometry. The range is offered in Bronze, Polished Nickel and Antique-Burnished Brass finishes to suit a variety of schemes.

Construction pairs solid metalwork with a thick slab of translucent alabaster. The backplate is a rectangular metal plate and a cylindrical vertical post supports the stone disc; the natural veining and tonal variation of alabaster means each piece will be unique.

Light is delivered by a dedicated integrated LED positioned beneath the stone disc so the alabaster both transmits and softly reflects light, producing a warm, diffused wall wash and controlled downward light. The specification lists 4W output producing approximately 400lm.

The fitting is designed for direct wall mounting and covers a standard electrical junction box. It is Class I with an IP20 rating and a listed weight of 1.8 kg; the backplate measures 11.4 cm by 20.3 cm and the overall height is 27.3 cm with a 17.1 cm extension. Alabaster is a natural stone and variations in colour and texture are to be expected. A one year manufacturer warranty applies.
