STORY

The Visual Comfort McClain Picture Light, designed by J. Randall Powers for Visual Comfort, is a hardwired wall-mounted fixture created to illuminate large-scale artworks, mirrors or groupings. Its long 42-inch span and refined profile are intended to provide even, directional accent lighting while remaining visually discreet.

Formally the light presents an ultra-slim horizontal bar with a triangular, beveled outer profile, supported by two rectangular wall plates and short perpendicular arms. It is offered in Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass and Bronze finishes to suit traditional and transitional interiors.

Constructed in metal with a textured hand-applied living finish, the McClain conveys a weathered, bespoke character without competing with the artwork. The dual-point mounting gives structural stability across the wide span and an architectural balance to the installation.

A downward-facing aperture along the underside directs illumination onto the surface below while shielding the lamp from direct view, helping to give even, task-oriented accent light. The fixture is specified for interior use (IP20) and is designed for hardwired installation with electrical connections concealed behind the mounting brackets.
