STORY

Visual Comfort Maxey Globe Pendant 14" is a pendant ceiling light by Visual Comfort designed by Thomas O'Brien for the Maxey range. The fixture pairs two glass hemispheres with metalwork to create a 14‑inch spherical form intended to provide ambient interior illumination.

The pendant's split‑glass construction places a clear glass upper hemisphere above a white opal lower hemisphere, producing a direct, visible light above and a softer, diffused glow below. The range is offered with a Polished Nickel appearance and in White and Clear glass options.

Constructed from metal and glass, the globe is secured at its equator by a central metal band with regularly spaced decorative fasteners. A circular ceiling canopy and a slim suspension rod or cord carry the globe, emphasising the fitting's balanced geometry and craft details.

The design exposes a single lamp within the clear upper hemisphere, giving a technical, structural character while the opal lower hemisphere moderates glare for general ambient use. The internal socket is oriented downwards to centre light inside the globe.

Practical notes: the pendant uses a standard screw‑in socket and is rated IP20 for indoor installation only. The product comes with a one year manufacturer warranty; consult the technical specification for compatible lamp caps and maximum wattage when selecting a bulb.
