STORY

The Visual Comfort Lorford Pendant Lantern, designed by Chapman & Myers, is a ceiling-mounted pendant that pairs aged iron metalwork with antiqued mercury glass. This pendant references 19th-century smoke bell lanterns while performing as a decorative ambient overhead fitting for interior spaces.

Its large, bell-shaped antiqued mercury glass shade sits beneath a flat circular glass disk and is held by a curved yoke with decorative ball finials. The silhouette reads layered and architectural; the Lorford is offered in Aged Iron and Gilded Iron finishes and in Small and Large sizes to suit different ceiling heights and scales.

The structural frame, suspension chain and tiered ceiling canopy are robust aged iron, while the mottled mercury glass provides a shimmering, distressed texture. A heavy-duty metal link chain allows the pendant's drop to be adjusted at installation; the glass shade is secured by the metal yoke for a considered, stable assembly.

Light is delivered from an internal four-arm cluster, with the antiqued mercury glass diffusing and partially obscuring the internal lamps to reduce glare and add reflective ambience. The fixture is intended for interior ambient lighting where an expressive, layered pendant is required; its IP20 rating indicates suitability for dry, internal spaces only.

Lamps are not included and no driver is supplied; dimming compatibility will depend on the chosen lamps and the control gear you specify. The product carries a one-year warranty and requires a standard ceiling electrical connection; the adjustable chain helps accommodate sloped ceilings and variable ceiling heights.
