STORY

The Visual Comfort Loire Chandelier, designed by Aerin Lauder for the Loire range, is a large-scale decorative ceiling pendant crafted from metal and hand-blown glass. Its mid-century Italian inspiration is visible in the fluid, cascading silhouette, intended to provide ambient interior illumination for dining rooms, entrance halls and other principal spaces.

The design uses a central vertical downrod and circular canopy to support a horizontal metal framework that carries multiple tiers of overlapping circular glass discs. The Loire is offered in Gild and Polished Nickel finishes and in Large and Extra-Large sizes, with glass options in White or Clear.

Materials are honest and tactile: warm metalwork contrasts the organic character of hand-blown strié glass discs. Each disc shows a translucent, strié texture with internal swirls and patterns, and is secured to the frame by discrete metal pins to create the layered, bowl-like formation.

Light sources sit behind the dense array of discs so the textured glass softens and diffuses the output, producing a gentle ambient glow while fully concealing the lamps. The tiered arrangement increases surface area for a uniform, luminous appearance and reduces direct glare from the bulbs.

The chandelier mounts from a fixed downrod and circular ceiling canopy; for custom height requirements please contact our sales team. The Loire carries an IP20 rating and is specified for indoor use.
