STORY

The Visual Comfort Dessau 48 Linear Suspension, designed by Sean Lavin for the Dessau range, is a pared-back linear pendant that brings considered overhead illumination to dining tables, kitchen islands and task surfaces. Its slim, architectural form and metal construction read as a single continuous line when installed.

Formally the fixture is a long, narrow horizontal bar suspended from a rectangular ceiling canopy by two very fine cables; the cables create a floating appearance while permitting height adjustment at installation. The fitting is finished in a uniform matte nightshade black for a discreet, contemporary presence.

Constructed from metal with a low-profile canopy and no visible fasteners, the Dessau 48 emphasises precise, uncluttered detailing. The slim housing conceals the light source and wiring for a clean visual line that complements modern interiors.

The bar uses an integrated LED light source with selectable colour temperatures (2700K or 3000K) and high colour rendering (90 CRI), delivering direct downward illumination suitable for task or ambient use. The narrow profile concentrates light where it’s needed while maintaining a calm, balanced ambience beneath the fitting.

Installation is straightforward: the rectangular canopy conceals the mounting hardware and electrical connections and the thin suspension cables allow the pendant height to be set on-site. The product is supplied in nightshade black and is intended for installations compatible with its electrical specification; a one-year manufacturer’s warranty is provided.
