STORY

The Visual Comfort Covet Bath Sconce, designed by Kelly Wearstler, pairs a carved slab of natural alabaster with a restrained metal frame. Part of the Covet range, this decorative wall-mounted bath sconce celebrates the translucency and organic patterns of the stone while serving as a refined source of ambient illumination.

The form is strictly rectangular and minimalist, with a vertically oriented alabaster panel held by a small metal clip at the base and a supporting rectangular backplate. It is offered in Antique Burnished Brass, Bronze and Polished Nickel to suit a range of interiors.

The diffuser is a solid slab of natural translucent white alabaster, showing cloudy mottling and subtle internal veining that vary from piece to piece. The metalwork has a brushed, hand-applied appearance, creating a considered contrast between warm stone and cool metal.

Light is delivered from behind the stone panel to produce soft, diffused ambient illumination that reduces hard shadow and creates atmosphere. The alabaster moderates glare and reveals the material’s natural texture when illuminated.
