STORY

The Visual Comfort Covet Double Box Sconce, designed by Kelly Wearstler for the Covet range, is a decorative wall-mounted vertical box sconce that celebrates carved alabaster and minimalist metalwork. Its restrained geometry and natural stone panels make it suitable as an accent or hallway light that provides soft ambient illumination.

The form pairs a slim rectangular metal mounting block with two vertical alabaster panels held in place by jewellery-style metal prongs. The fixture is offered in Antique-Burnished Brass, Polished Nickel and Bronze, allowing the sconce to sit comfortably in both classical and contemporary schemes.

The panels are carved from natural alabaster — a semi-translucent stone with milky tones and organic veining. The prong setting and metal centrepiece are crafted to present the stone as the primary visual element, ensuring each fitting has a subtly unique appearance due to natural variation.

Light is diffused through the upper and lower alabaster panels to create a warm, even glow rather than direct task illumination. The double-panel arrangement produces a balanced architectural silhouette that works well for ambient layers in corridors, living spaces and bedrooms.

The Covet Double Box Sconce is rated IP20 for indoor use; it is intended for dry internal zones and is not suitable for wet locations. When specifying multiple sconces for a hallway or long run, maintain approximately 8–10 feet (2.4–3.0 metres) between fittings for an even spread of light. Natural stone will vary in colour and texture, which is an expected characteristic of alabaster.
