STORY

Visual Comfort Comtesse Wall Sconce, designed by Paloma Contreras for Visual Comfort, presents a considered decorative wall light in the Comtesse range. The sconce reads as an architectural object, intended for indoor ambient lighting and to frame a single decorative source within a recessed housing.

The design is a tall, vertical rectangular metal frame with substantial side panels and a flat base. The interior back surface is concave, curving inward to form a niche-like reflector that both frames and softens the bulb. The fitting is available in Polished Nickel.

Construction is metal-bodied with a fine, vertically oriented brushed texture visible across the surfaces. The lamp base is deliberately candle-like, with a vertical sleeve sat above a small decorative spherical element, and the bulb is exposed with no shade.

The sconce houses a single exposed flame-tip style bulb. The concave rear surface captures and diffuses the glow, containing illumination on three sides to create a calm, framed ambient effect that balances direct and reflected light.

Installation notes: this is a wall-mounted decorative fitting supplied from Visual Comfort with a 1 year warranty. There is no integrated LED specified in the product data and no IP rating listed, so the sconce is specified for dry indoor zones.
