STORY

The Visual Comfort Chalmette Layered Sconce, designed by Julie Neill, is a considered wall-mounted decorative light from Visual Comfort's Chalmette range. The sconce is a layered metal cylinder with a restrained, architectural profile, intended for interior use where directional up-and-down light is required.

Formally the fixture uses a central vertical column intersected by a wider, shorter concentric band to create a layered silhouette. The body projects from the wall on a square backplate that matches the fixture finish. It is offered in Aged Iron, Plaster White and Gild, and Plaster White.

Constructed in metal, the surface shows a smooth, hand-applied finish with subtle tonal variation and low reflectivity, reinforcing the fitting's minimalist aesthetic. Clean lines and concealed fixings maintain an uninterrupted geometric presence on the wall.

The sconce delivers light from both the top and bottom ends via two lamps, providing both upward and downward illumination for ambient and accent layering. The hollow cylindrical ends control directionality and reduce stray glare while creating balanced wall-wash effects.

Installation uses the square backplate which is offset behind the central band so the body projects forward from the wall. The fitting is rated IP20 and is intended for interior zones; refer to the technical sheet for approved lamp types, maximum wattage and wiring details. Visual Comfort provides a one-year product warranty.
