STORY

The Visual Comfort Carola 4-Light Bath Sconce is a four-light decorative wall fitting by Aerin Lauder for Visual Comfort. Part of the Carola range, this indoor wall sconce is designed for placement above a bathroom mirror or along a hallway where considered, directional ambient light is required.

Formally the design pairs a long, horizontal metal bar with four bowl-shaped glass shades spaced equidistantly along its length. The linear, minimalist frame contrasts with organic, marbled glass; the fitting is offered in Polished Nickel and Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass with White Strié glass.

Manufactured from metal and glass, the sconce features a circular wall backplate and a matte, brushed metal finish on the frame. The shades present a subtle swirling or alabaster-like translucency that diffuses the lamp light while retaining texture in the finish.

Each of the four open, upward-facing shades houses an internal lamp, producing four separate points of light that cast upwards and outwards through the translucent glass. This arrangement works well as vanity or corridor ambient lighting; the product is rated IP20 for indoor use.
