STORY

The Visual Comfort Axis Large Linear Pendant from the Axis range, designed by Kelly Wearstler, is a minimalist metal pendant intended for overhead lighting in kitchens, dining and living spaces. Its long, linear profile reads architectural yet refined, making it suitable where proportion and simplicity are required.

Formally, the fixture is a slim horizontal light bar suspended from a coordinating rectangular canopy by two slender rods. The Axis is offered in Polished Nickel, Bronze and Antique-Burnished Brass, allowing the pendant to either complement warm schemes or provide a restrained metallic contrast.

Constructed in metal, the pendant shows a considered surface finish with a soft, burnished texture on the Antique-Burnished Brass option. The lamp measures 4.45cm by 151.1cm overall with a fixture height of 30.5cm; the canopy is a 11.4cm by 112.4cm rectangle and the complete assembly weighs 9.1 kg. Adjustable suspension and a custom height option allow the pendant to be set to correct proportion.

The Axis integrates a dedicated LED light source as a continuous strip beneath the bar, delivering downward illumination suited to task and ambient layers. The specification states 40 W output at approximately 3200 lm, creating even, balanced light across elongated surfaces such as islands or dining tables.

Technical notes: the pendant is IP20 and Class I, intended for indoor dry zones. Overall height is 116.8cm with a minimum custom height of 45.7cm; weight is 9.1 kg.
