STORY

The Visual Comfort Antigua Drum Chandelier from the Antigua range, designed by Chapman & Myers, is a tiered ceiling pendant that pairs natural abaca with antique‑burnished brass hardware. Its scale and drum form make it intended as a primary interior light for dining rooms, foyers and living spaces.

The shade is sculptural and multi‑tiered: five horizontal tiers form a scalloped, wavy profile that flares at the centre and tapers at the top and bottom. The Antigua is offered in three sizes — Small, Medium and Extra‑Large — to suit different ceiling heights and room proportions.

Craft is expressed through a tight horizontal weave of natural abaca fibres that give the shade a ribbed, tactile appearance. Suspension, canopy and decorative loop are metal with an antique‑burnished brass finish, giving a refined contrast to the woven shade.

The open, semi‑translucent weave allows light to pass through the shade while multiple internal bulbs are visible through the structure, creating a textured, ambient glow rather than a harsh direct beam. The chandelier is designed to act as a considered ambient source in layered lighting schemes.

Installation uses an adjustable metal chain and matching circular ceiling canopy. The fitting is rated IP20 for interior dry locations. Warranty information supplied with the product lists a one‑year manufacturer’s warranty.
