Tom Dixon Melt Pendant

The Tom Dixon Melt Pendant is a multi-light cluster pendant from the Melt range, created through blow moulding and vacuum metallisation to produce a molten, mirror‑finish effect. Designed for overhead ceiling installation, the pendant serves as a decorative focal point while delivering ambient interior illumination.

The design pairs eight irregular, organically shaped diffusers with a thin, polished metal rod framework. The orbs are arranged asymmetrically to give a naturalistic, imperfect appearance and to distribute light in multiple directions across a room. The whole assembly is suspended from a single slender vertical cable with a central support rod.

The Melt orbs are formed by a blow‑moulding process and finished with high‑gloss silver chrome vacuum metallisation, giving a seamless reflective surface over complex, non‑uniform shapes. The supporting geometry is provided by intersecting polished metal rods, creating a deliberate contrast between linear structure and fluid forms.

Light emerges from within each orb so the fitting provides soft ambient light and a rich interplay of reflection and shadow. When unlit the mirror finish obscures internal light sources and reads as sculptural metallic form; when lit the cluster produces atmospheric, multi‑directional illumination suited to living rooms, dining areas and generous circulation spaces.

This pendant is rated IP20 and intended for indoor, dry environments. The fitting is suspended from a single cable and central support rod; lamps and driver information are provided by the manufacturer. The product is supplied with a three year manufacturer warranty.
