Marset Discoco Pendant

The Marset Discoco Pendant, designed by Christophe Mathieu, is a decorative ceiling light that reads as a piece of sculpture as much as a fitting. Its tiered, pinecone-like arrangement of overlapping discs references organic volume while performing as a source of indoor illumination.

Formally the Discoco is defined by repeated circular discs positioned around a central core. It is offered in Matt Beige, Matt Grey, Black Gold, White Wire 5M and White, allowing the fixture to be chosen to suit a range of interiors and scales.

Construction is resolutely considered: the model pictured uses 35 opaque ABS discs mounted on thin radiating metal arms to a chrome-covered central sphere. The contrast between the matte exterior and the reflective metallic gold interiors gives the pendant a distinct, layered presence both lit and unlit.

Light is delivered as a combination of direct downward illumination and diffused ambient glow. The overlapping discs shield the internal lamp from direct view, reducing glare while the chrome sphere and gold interiors create internal reflections that produce a warm, nuanced interplay of light and shadow.
