The Flos KTribe Suspension is a pendant designed by Philippe Starck for Flos. Part of the KTribe range, this suspension lamp pairs a translucent inner diffuser with a metallic outer shade to deliver considered, diffused ceiling lighting for indoor spaces.

Formally the fitting uses a truncated conical outer shade with a nested opal inner diffuser. The KTribe Suspension is offered in Bronze, fumée and Transparent appearances, each creating a distinct layered effect between the metallic outer shell and the white inner core.

The inner diffuser is moulded PC (polycarbonate) in an opal white finish, while the outer shade is PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) with a vacuum-aluminized inner surface in silver or bronze. The aluminized coating improves internal reflection and gives the shade its metallic appearance.

Light is delivered through the dual-diffuser arrangement: the opal inner diffuser conceals the lamp and softens glare, while the outer metallic shade shapes and reflects the downward beam to create balanced ambient and task-capable illumination.

The fixture is suspended by three stainless steel cables (3,500 mm) and includes a white ceiling rose. Lamps are not included; the fitting is supplied for indoor use with an IP20 rating. Specify E27 lamp types and an appropriate dimmer if dimming is required; consult product notes for compatible lamps and accessories.
