The Visual Comfort Catena Chandelier, designed by Sean Lavin, is a modular, articulated ceiling light that reads like a large‑scale decorative installation while delivering ambient illumination. The Catena range balances technological precision with an organic, draped aesthetic inspired by a necklace or industrial chain.

Formally the fixture is made from multiple uniform, rectangular modules joined end‑to‑end to create a long, articulated chain. It is suspended in a U‑shaped catenary from two small, circular ceiling mounting plates and can be configured by draping or re‑arranging its hinged joints. The chandelier is available in Bronze, Hand‑Rubbed Antique Brass and Polished Nickel and in 2700K or 3000K colour temperatures.

Construction is metal throughout with a dark, matte finish to the frame and connecting joints. Each linear module incorporates an inset frosted or white diffuser that houses the internal light source, and the numerous pivot points give the Catena significant flexibility compared with rigid chandeliers.

The Catena provides broad ambient light delivered by integrated linear segments, with frosted diffusers to soften direct glare. A CRI of 90 supports accurate colour rendition, making the fitting suitable as a principal decorative light in larger living, dining or entrance spaces where a sculptural centrepiece is required.
