Museum lighting requires sources that render colors faithfully without enhancement or distortion. This goes beyond CRI to include TM-30 metrics that capture fidelity (Rf) and gamut (Rg). Proper specification ensures a blue in a Vermeer looks the same as it did under the daylight the artist used, and a red remains deep rather than shifted orange.

Specify CCT based on artwork period: 3000K for Old Masters (approximates candlelight/natural light), 4000K for modern work (approximates north light). Verify UV-free output (no emission below 400nm). Consider Gamut Index (TM-30) for specific color families if collection has known dominant hues.
