Gallery matched retail lighting

The shop uses the same lighting specifications as the galleries—identical CCT, CRI 95+, and TM-30 metrics—so reproductions and prints show true colors that match what visitors saw in the gallery. Higher illuminance for retail browsing, but identical spectral quality.

Easy Mid-Range
Approach Detail

Specify shop fixtures with identical color metrics to gallery: same CCT (e.g., 3000K), CRI 95+, TM-30 Rf 95+. Increase illuminance to retail levels (500-750 lux for general, 1000+ for feature displays). Use identical lamp/LED type if possible for perfect consistency. Position fixtures to avoid reflections on book covers and glass cases. Create high-color-rendering zone for print viewing with dedicated illuminance control. Include viewing station where customers can examine prints under gallery-equivalent conditions.

Key Fixtures

Same LED sources as galleries at higher output, retail track system with flexible positioning, dedicated print viewing station.

Designer Notes

Render showing a visitor examining a print in the shop, comparing it to their memory of the original. Show the consistency of color rendering. Include before/after comparison of a print under generic retail lighting vs. gallery-matched lighting.

Best For
All museum shops, galleries selling artist prints, retail attached to any color-critical exhibition context.
