Approach Detail
Install exterior photocell to sense ambient daylight. Program entry zone lighting to inverse relationship: bright outside = dimmer entry (but not dark), dark outside = brighter entry creating welcoming beacon. Use tunable white to shift cooler during day, warmer at evening. Transition zones: 3-second gradual dim change maximum.
Key Fixtures
Exterior photocell sensor, 0-10V or DALI dimmable fixtures, tunable white LED sources, lighting control system (Lutron, etc.).
Designer Notes
Render two versions: sunny day view from outside looking in (interior slightly dim, welcoming), and evening view from outside (interior glowing warmly, beacon effect). Show gradient from entry to seating.
Best For
Cafés with large storefronts, dramatic lighting schemes, locations with extreme daylight variation.
