STORY

The Visual Comfort Turlington Pendant, designed by Thomas O'Brien for Visual Comfort, is a small ceiling pendant that pairs a conical metal shade with a slim, elongated downrod. The piece is fashioned to provide considered interior downlighting and to read as a refined architectural accent.

Formally, the pendant uses a long rigid stem and a tripod-style support for the shade, producing a minimalist vertical profile and subtle industrial detail. It is offered in Polished Nickel, Bronze and Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass, and available in Small and Large sizes to suit different ceilings and proportions.

Constructed entirely from metal, the Turlington emphasises craft with a dark matte bronze finish contrasted by hand-rubbed antique brass details and a decorative brass collar on the downrod. Thin angled support arms and small brass spheres mark junctions, reinforcing the fitting's precise assembly.

The conical shade directs light downwards for focused task or accent illumination, helping to create balance and clarity in a scheme. The metal shade also limits upward glare and concentrates output beneath the fitting, making it suitable for circulation, dining and over-bench applications where directed light is desired.
