STORY

The Visual Comfort Sussex Semi-Flush Bell Jar Lantern is a semi‑flush ceiling light from the Sussex range, designed by Chapman & Myers for Visual Comfort. The bell-shaped clear glass and metal frame deliver a traditional lantern expression that suits bedrooms, living rooms, home offices and hallways.

Formally, the fixture pairs a clear, bell-shaped glass jar with a three-chain suspension and a circular ceiling canopy. The semi‑flush drop keeps the lantern close to the ceiling while introducing a modest vertical presence; it is offered in Polished Nickel, Bronze and Antique Burnished Brass.

Construction is honest and straightforward: a metal frame supports the glass jar, a central stem carries four curved candle-style arms and off-white candle sleeves, and a decorative finial secures the assembly at the base. The canopy measures 15.3cm round and the fitting weighs 4.5kg.
