STORY

The Visual Comfort Summerhill Pendant is a pendant ceiling light from the Summerhill range, designed by Chapman & Myers. It pairs a gold-toned metal band with a draped, empire-style beaded basket to create decorative indoor illumination.

The form is defined by a circular top rim and multiple vertical strands of clear, faceted beads that taper to a small decorative cap at the bottom. Three diagonal support rods and a central stem give the beaded basket its tensioned silhouette, while a matching chain and circular ceiling canopy provide suspension.

Construction combines a gold-finished metal frame with clear faceted beads; the internal stem and bulb sockets are finished in the same gold tone for a cohesive appearance. The visible mechanical elements are intentionally integrated into the composition to maintain a unified aesthetic.

Light is delivered from three internal bulb sockets arranged around the central stem. The clear beads catch and refract light to produce a semi-transparent screen that softens direct glare and produces decorative sparkle, making the fitting well suited to ambient lighting in halls, dining areas or living rooms.

The fixture is rated IP20 for indoor use and is suspended from a ceiling canopy by a chain that allows height adjustment during installation.
