STORY

Visual Comfort Strada Small Sconce is a decorative wall sconce by Kelly Wearstler for the Strada range. The piece reads as both a light source and a sculptural wall element, referencing vibrant organic forms through a metal-quill aesthetic intended for interior spaces.

The design is a double-starburst or hourglass silhouette formed from numerous thin, straight metal rods radiating from a central point. The Strada Small Sconce is available in Aged Iron and Gild, each finish emphasising the fixture’s delicate, radiating profile.

A circular backplate supports the assembly and a thick horizontal collar cinches the bundle of rods at its narrowest point, giving the piece a compact, tactile centre. The rods vary in length to create a jagged, organic outer perimeter and a sense of dynamic movement.

Two lamps sit nested within the central cluster and are oriented vertically to deliver both upward and downward illumination. The dense arrangement of slender rods fragments the light to cast striated shadow patterns on surrounding walls, making the sconce effective as an accent or ambient light source. When specifying multiple sconces in a corridor or around a dining area, a balanced spacing of around 8–10 ft (2.4–3 m) is a practical starting point.

The Strada Small Sconce mounts directly to a standard wall junction box via its circular backplate and carries an IP20 rating for interior use. It requires two lamps, which are supplied separately; LED lamps are offered as an add-on. A 1-year manufacturer warranty applies.
