STORY

The Visual Comfort Signoret Desk Lamp, designed by Thomas O'Brien for Visual Comfort, pairs a considered mechanical silhouette with functional task lighting. The lamp's mid‑century and industrial cues are expressed through a high‑contrast metal finish and a truncated conical shade, making it suitable for desks, workspaces and bedside tables.

The Signoret uses a multi‑jointed arm and a vertical stem that meet at two articulating pivots, allowing precise height and angle adjustment. The design is offered in the pictured warm brass‑toned metalwork and a matte black shade to create clear visual contrast.

Constructed from metal, the lamp sits on a circular, tiered weighted base for stability. The conical shade has a light‑toned interior to enhance reflection and a knurled metal finial or switch at the top for a tactile finishing detail.

Light is directed by the adjustable head for focused task illumination; the light‑toned shade interior helps increase usable light on the work surface while the shade exterior controls glare. The lamp is IP20 rated for indoor use and is portable within interior spaces.
