STORY

The Visual Comfort Rigby Small Sconce, designed by Marie Flanigan, is a decorative interior wall light that balances a linear metal profile with organic material accents. The series' refined silhouette makes the small sconce appropriate for hallways, dining rooms and living areas where considered ambient or accent lighting is required.

Formally the Rigby Small Sconce combines a tall, slim rectangular backplate with a vertical central column and a cantilevered U-shaped arm that supports a tapered, truncated-conical linen shade. It is offered in two finishes — Polished Nickel with Ebony and Soft Brass with Natural Oak — so you can choose a metal-and-wood pairing to suit your scheme.

Construction pairs a high-shine polished metal mounting and arm with a textured ebony wood stem, while the shade is finished in white linen with metal bands on the upper and lower rims. The metal trim and caps create a refined architectural detail that frames the fabric diffuser.

The linen shade acts as a diffuser to soften light output and minimise direct glare from the lamp, delivering gentle ambient or accent illumination from a single lamp head housed within the shade.
