STORY

The Visual Comfort Presidio Outdoor Wall Sconce, designed by Ian K. Fowler, pairs a tall 18-inch clear glass cylinder with a hand-rubbed antique brass frame to provide considered exterior accent lighting.

The design emphasises extreme verticality and clean geometry: a slim, open-ended glass column rises above a rectangular backplate with a recessed centre and raised border. The fixture is offered in Bronze and Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass, and in Small and Medium sizes.

Metal components present a hand-rubbed antique brass look that gives subtle, artisanal texture while a clear glass sleeve keeps the form visually light. A central horizontal arm connects the backplate to a cylindrical metal housing and a metal collar secures the glass sleeve.

The clear, open-ended glass reveals a long tubular Edison-style lamp as part of the aesthetic and allows unobstructed light dispersion and airflow. The sconce is intended to provide decorative illumination for entryways, patios and exterior walls, where the visible filament adds warmth and atmosphere.

This is a hardwired wall-mounted fitting with an IP44 rating for protection against splashes in sheltered outdoor locations.
