STORY

The Visual Comfort Parkington Double Library Wall Light, designed by Chapman & Myers, is a decorative swing-arm library-style wall light. Its silhouette pairs architectural moulding details with industrial minimalism, using metal and a conical clear glass shade to deliver focused task and accent light.

The fixture uses a two-part articulated arm with circular swivel joints and knurled thumb screws for horizontal and vertical positioning. The double-jointed arm extends outward or folds close to the wall. It is offered in Polished Nickel, Bronze and Antique-Burnished Brass finishes, with a clear glass shade option.

Construction combines a circular metal backplate, an articulated metal arm and a tapered clear glass cone. The shade is secured to the socket assembly by three decorative thumbscrews; the image example shows an aged/brushed-brass appearance. Materials listed for the product are metal and glass.

Light is delivered as a directed, task-oriented beam suited to reading, bedside use, studies and transitional hallways. The design exposes the bulb within a clear shade, so the fitting provides an open, crisp quality of light and works well where adjustable, shoulder-level illumination is required.

Installation is indicated as hardwired and the fitting is controlled by a small toggle switch on the wall backplate. The product carries an IP20 rating (for dry interior locations) and is ETL listed. For bedside mounting it is common to position the top of the sconce approximately 55"–60" from the floor so switches remain reachable from a seated position.
