STORY

The Visual Comfort Ojai Sconce is a wall-mounted decorative sconce from the Ojai range, designed by Barbara Barry for Visual Comfort. The lantern-inspired form and frosted glass panels suit decorative and bathroom wall lighting where considered, diffused illumination is required.

The design pairs a rectangular lantern housing with a square flush-mount backplate, suspended from a vertically ridged arm. The composition balances modern geometric lines with a traditional lantern silhouette; the range is offered in four variants.

Construction combines a metal frame finished in a variegated, hand-rubbed bronze and four frosted glass panels that obscure the bulb. The square backplate is intended for flush mounting to a wall surface.

Frosted glass panels diffuse the internal light source to produce soft, non‑glaring illumination suitable for decorative ambience and bathroom locations when specified with the higher IP option. The arm holds the lantern in a fixed, downward-facing position, giving controlled, even light distribution rather than direct glare.
