STORY

The Visual Comfort Nyra Pendant, designed by Sean Lavin for Visual Comfort, is a sculptural ceiling pendant that uses a sliced‑shade silhouette to create an elegant decorative focal point while providing ambient, diffused illumination.

The design arranges multiple thin, translucent vertical fins around a perforated black central core to suggest a rounded, petal‑like form. The Nyra is offered in Nightshade Black and Plated Brass finishes and is available in Small and Large sizes to suit different ceiling heights and room proportions.

Structurally, the suspension rod, central assembly and cylindrical ceiling canopy are formed from metal with a matte black appearance. The translucent fins are thin panels that catch and diffuse light, giving the fixture visual lightness and a layered three‑dimensional presence.

An integrated vertical light source sits within the textured, perforated core. The core’s linear illumination glows through the centre and lights the edges of the fins, producing a soft, balanced ambient wash and a distinctive central highlight while maintaining controlled diffusion.

Specification notes: the pendant is supplied with a rigid downrod and matching cylindrical canopy for ceiling mounting. CRI is 90, and the product carries the manufacturer warranty of 1 year.
