Visual Comfort Melange Pendant

The Visual Comfort Melange Pendant is a pendant light from the Melange range, designed by Kelly Wearstler. It pairs a carved alabaster dome with a streamlined metal frame to create a modern, sculptural ceiling light intended for decorative ambient illumination in indoor spaces such as living rooms, dining areas and hallways.

The design uses a hemispherical, dome-shaped alabaster shade supported by three angled metal rods that converge into a central downrod. The tripod-like support and slim canopy form an architectural silhouette that contrasts the organic mass of stone with geometric metal. The pendant is offered in Bronze, Polished Nickel and Antique-Burnished Brass finishes.

Each shade is carved from natural alabaster, so veining and tone vary between pieces and will be unique to the product. Metal hardware provides structural support; the fixture uses rigid metal stems for a fixed-height suspension and a circular ceiling canopy for mounting. Three points of contact on the shade rim keep the stone bowl balanced and level.

The translucent properties of the alabaster allow internal light to penetrate the stone, producing a soft, warm diffusion that reduces direct glare and softly illuminates surrounding surfaces. As a decorative ambient pendant it is well suited to dining tables, living rooms, hallways and bedrooms where a collected, softened glow is desired. The fitting is IP20 rated for indoor use.

The Melange pendant requires appropriate ceiling mounting and should be installed by a qualified electrician given the weight and natural stone construction. Natural variations in colour and veining are expected with alabaster; handle with care during installation. The product carries a one year manufacturer warranty.
