STORY

The Visual Comfort Hackney Tail Sconce is a decorative wall light designed by J. Randall Powers for the Hackney range. Its clean, vertical silhouette and metal construction deliver considered interior illumination while doubling as an architectural wall element.

The design combines a long, slender vertical rod that extends above and below a circular mounting plate with a tapered conical shade. It is offered in Polished Nickel, Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass and Bronze to suit a range of interior schemes.

Built around a metal frame, the fixture uses a circular backplate and a small square cuff to secure the vertical stem. The proportions emphasise the extended lower tail, creating a dramatic, elongated profile against the wall.

The white tapered shade diffuses light and reduces direct glare while directing illumination upwards and downwards, making the sconce well suited to ambient lighting in hallways, stairwells and reception spaces. The fixture provides decorative, atmospheric light rather than a focused task beam.
