STORY

The Visual Comfort Glendon Small Hurricane Sconce is a decorative wall-mounted hurricane-style sconce by Visual Comfort, designed by Chapman & Myers as part of the Glendon range. The fitting pairs metalwork with a tall clear glass cylinder and is intended to provide ambient or accent illumination for interior spaces.

Formally the design combines a classic hurricane lantern silhouette with clean architectural lines: a tall cylindrical clear glass shade sits in front of a single vertical support bar attached to a circular wall plate, while a distinctive square-loop metal detail anchors the base. The Glendon sconce is offered in Polished Nickel and Antique-Burnished Brass finishes.

Construction is honest and straightforward: metal and clear glass are the primary materials, the glass secured by a metal ring at the top and a weighted metal base at the bottom. The Antique-Burnished Brass is described as a hand-applied living finish, giving each fitting subtle surface character.

Light is delivered by a single candle-style source enclosed within the clear cylinder; the fixture includes an off-white candle sleeve to mimic a wax candle and is topped by a flame-shaped decorative-bulb detail.
